I was initially really excited about the Verizon deal, then I heard that….
Verizon’s CDMA iPhone can’t allow for voice and data usage at the same time. For instance, you can’t be on a phone call and look for directions on Maps at the same time. With AT&T, if someone calls and asks you about something that was discussed in an email they sent, you can jump over to check your email then relay the message while still on the call. It may not sound practical, but it’s extremely useful for those of us who are often on the go or need to be in constant communication for work. - I use this multi-tasking functionality ALL THE TIME
Verizon users who aren’t worried about that may want to know that they cannot receive push notifications while on a call, and that incoming calls will interrupt their use of any sort of data. One example may be checking email or downloading an App. You will be forced to choose between receiving the call or continuing what you are doing. - ismashphone.com
That’s a deal breaker for me; I’ll have to stick with AT&T.
Plus several of my friends have said that they’re thrilled because potentially it means a whole lot of people are leaving AT&T for Verizon’s lesser functional iPhone. AT&T service should improve A LOT!
